Springlike

A song sparrow sings the last notes from the "Lucy" show song

while a mated pair of cardinals darts tree to tree.
Used canoes in a pileup at the sunken South Bridge Boat House:

great deals the rough lettering calls out.

Then I'm picturing the car under the weight of a faded red Old Town canoe -
all things being possible
at last as the train passes a child on the platform covering his ears at the rumble.
There are places we can go, under a grayish mackerel sky.

Heading out through the forest and under the overpass

and the crowns of the edging pine trees

reflecting so darkly at the pond rim. We're sketching out a life here: conditions, good.
